                                                     Pay what you can afford.

2nd Feb        7.30 pm            Think & Drink  for young adults (18+).  Join us for a new
                                                     initiative embracing faith, fellowship and fun. Gathering
                                                     in the Narthex at Sacred Heart Church after the 6.30pm
                                                     Mass and walking across to the Woodpecker Pub on
                                                     London Road.

8th Feb         9.15 am            Invitation from Bishop Philip to all Engaged Couples                                                       special blessing at a St. Valentine’s Day Breakfast in                                                       .the Cathedral. Are you getting married sometime in 2025
                                                    – either in a church in our diocese or in a church
                                                    elsewhere, maybe even abroad? If you are,
                                                    Congratulations! Bishop Philip would like to meet you and
                                                    give you a special blessing . Following the breakfast the
                                                    Bishop has asked a newly-married couple to give a brief
                                                    talk about their experience. This will be followed by a short
                                                    Service of Blessing, in which each couple will be blessed
                                                    individually, including your engagement rings (it doesn’t
                                                    matter whether you are Catholic or not, everyone
                                                    is welcome). The event should finish around 11.45am.

8th Feb         11.00 am           Safeguarding Training in Person Julie Minal, the
                                                     Safeguarding Training Officer will be running a session at
                                                     St. Swithun’s, Southsea.
                                                  There are basically two sessions. The first is 'Child
                                                      Protection' starting at 11am and finishing at 12.30. We
                                                      then have half an hour for lunch and the second session
                         1.00 pm             of 'Working with Adults at Risk' starts at 1.00pm and with
                                                      a mid-way short comfort break, finishes by 4pm.
                                                      Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided but if people are
                                                      attending both sessions we ask them to bring their own
                                                      packed lunch.
                                                      There is a church car park which can be accessed only
                                                     via Collingwood Road. There are bus stops on
                                                     Albert Road relatively near to St. Swithun's Church. The
                                                     No. 23 bus from Leigh Park/Havant via Drayton stops at
                                                     the Strand in Southsea which is at the bottom of 
                                                     Waverley Road .

15th Feb        12 noon            Mass for the sick at St. Edmund's, followed by lunch in
                                                     the hall. All are welcome.

22nd Feb       10.00 am         Havant Pastoral Area SYNOD – St Joseph’s Havant 
                                                     This will be the third of these occasions inviting everyone
                                                     within our pastoral area to come together to hear what's
                                                     been developing in recent months, to listen to each other
                                                     and to pray together. Lunch will be provided. More details
                                                     to follow in the New Year.

1st March       12.30 pm        Thanksgiving Celebration Mass for all our amazing
                                                     young people who serve in our church community
                                                     at the Sacred Heart, Waterlooville, followed by 
                                                     Domino's Pizza.
                                                     Fr John Cooke, the vocations' promoter of the diocese, will
                                                     also be on hand to give each of us pointers on how
                                                     we can work out what God is calling us to be and do in our
                                                     lives. You are each amazingly made and definitely
                                                     unique and God has a plan for each one of you. It should
                                                     be an amazing afternoon. We will finish by 3:00pm.

10th May      12 noon             Mass for the sick at St. Edmund's, followed by lunch in
                                                     the hall. All are welcome.  

2nd - 6th June                      Retreat at Buckfast Abbey.  Father Jeremy and Father
                                               James invite us to join them at Buckfast for three
                                               full days at the Northgate House Hotel Buckfast.

28th July - 4th Aug             Diocesan World Youth Day Pilgrimage to Rome. Join
                                                    Bishop Philip and a group of young people 17+ on this
                                                    pilgrimage to Rome for the chance to unite with
                                                    thousands of young people from across the world.
